Starting Monday the 8th of July I've gained a week of work experience at Mockford and Hunt. During my first day I've gotten to be able to hear and see the daily task and activity of a successful estate agents and how they interact with their clients about their future homes they will live at or homes they will sell. This blog I'm going to share my perspective of what an estate agency is like and what are some little things I've been taught and what I have learned.
When we were approaching Mockford and Hunt , me and my dad questioned if we were at the right place, we were expecting a big office, signs plastered everywhere telling us this was Mockford and Hunt. Instead, I reached Mockford and Hunt. It was a little office that was 3 man/women team which I felt was the best thing that could happen for my work experience. They are fun and well organised and a great team who care about their customers and give them all the support which I see other companies need to do more of.
Through my observation throughout my week at Mockford and Hunt I got to realise the real experience of a estate agent, e.g.how often their phones rings. The phones calls can vary from them chasing up a client, getting calls from other estate agents, speaking to their clients or even wanting to book a viewing. Even while this was going on I never felt like I wasn't a part of the team for the week I was there for.
I got to work with each person of the comapny and see and work with them in there area of expertise. Tim was amazing at listings, views and house valuations creating an everlasting relationship with his clients who come back and do more business with the company from previous experience they had with him. Frances was the admin and marketing specialist helping to create a buzz around a property marketing making sure the finances and taxes of the company were all up to date, but not just that, she could do house viewings and valuations as well. Then Charlotte like the others does viewings and listings as well but is a wizard at the customer service side for the company checking on customers catching up with them and building realtionships with them.
Things I've seen and learned that Mockford and Hunt do are offer personalised WhatsApp group to their customers. Each client gets their group chat with the team which allows them to give continuous communication between them and team and help the team advise them and
let the clients reach them at any time of the day. This showed me how estate agents can create a effective level of trust and communication throughout the experience and build genuine relationships with their clients. Also, got to see how they make advertisements and market for their houses to gain attention from buyers and make posters for events they are going to run in the community.
I really enjoyed my time at Mockford and Hunt and got to really find out what goes into being a successful real estate agent. After this I'm going in to year 13 then hopefully university. This been a great Insight of working in a business, hopefully maybe one day something I might try to pursue myself.
